Hi Everyone!! Hope all is going well on your front. Things in NC and at Base camp are going well. So I bet you are wondering who Mr. Watson is... well he is the new base camp kitty and the cutest thing ever! We all decided that we wanted a kitty on basecampe and I was the one who got to go into town and pick him up. The humane society in brevard is inside the thrift store and a VERY small operation. But I just went in and held him and new right away he was the kitty that needed to join our family up here. After that it was pretty easy I seriously just said I want this one and the lady made me fill out a short sheet and then he was mine ready to go. Karla this made me think of all the drama we went through in Orlando to adopt baby gary and it just illustarated hyow much easier it is in a small town :) But anyways, he is black and white and so tiny and he loves to snuggle. This morning when I was working he just slept in my hoodie while I was going about my business. He might be the most spoiled kitten ever, the whole basecamp just gives him endless attention and pretty much lets him do whatever he wants. He is supposed to be a mouser when he gets older but I think that we are making him soft :)
We had a huge course start yesterday so the last four days or so have been pretty crazy around here. All of the instructors who are going out on course have to report to basecamp two days before their course start to do precourse activities. That involces, gear, food, route planning, lesson planning, and a whole slew of other things. The day of the course the students are all picked up at the airport and then dropped at their respective locations for duffle suffle. This is where we look at everything that they brought and help them transfer it to their outward bound gear. A lot of times they dont have enough of what is needed or brought way to much so it is a interesting process. Especially to see the students who really don't know what they are getting themselves into, but a lot of times those are the ones that get the most out of the experience in the end. But it did mean that I was with a crew until about 11 last night getting everything set with them and helping out to get them off into the field, but that also means that I have this afternoon off so, yes you guessed it, I'm in town :) It is rainy here so I'm thinking of the crews out on course who are in their banana suits (bright yellow rain gear). I think we are going to find somewhere with a tv to watch some of the world cup so that should be fun. Other then that it is pretty chill around basecamp with 8 crews in the field the homestaff is holding down the fort. But that also means that we have about 120 people in the field right now so we are ready to move if need be (evacuations that is).
I think thats all for now. Not much else has been going on. Lots of work, work and more work. But its a good time so no complaints here.
Can't wait to talk to you all soon!
Hugs and love

I want to see pictures of Mr. Watson! Now that you have a kitty, you are definitely never leaving there, are you? :-) Keep us updated with what you're up to! Can't wait to talk to you again soon...when I'm not on the golf course falling out of a cart! :-)
