Red Rocks

I've been back in MI for almost a week now. It's taken me a while to sit down and write about the last couple weeks or so. I spent about 8 days out in Red Rocks Nevada close to Vegas and it was an amazing place. I drove out from Asheville with Meredith and MB and passed some interesting places. In Memphis we stopped for dinner at an out of the way Mexican restaurant and the food was amazing. The next night we managed to top that by staying in a hotel called the Elegante with a free Omelet bar, how great is that :)

Anyways, Red Rocks provided 8 days of fun with good friends and amazing climbing. I'm quite sure that even if I stayed out there and climbed for a year straight I wouldn't get around to climbing everything that is a beautiful thing! The park is a 13 mile loop with canyons and great rock on every side.

Thanksgiving under the stars was an unforgettable experience. Meredith and Alex stayed at camp all day and cooked the turkeys over the spit. They were very diligent and amazing cooks, keeping the birds moist with PBR until they were ready to go. Everyone else (about 25 in all) were responsible for bringing a side. We had everything from cranberries, scalped potatoes, sweat potatoes, gravy, green bean casserole and everything in between. The night was full of great food, music and friends. I definitely felt lucky to be part of the whole experience.

I'm definitely planning on going back next year!!!

There are some pictures posted here... check them out :)
