Hi Everyone! I hope that you are all well and having a great day! Things are good on my end. This is the first time I've been able to get online since my last post... crazy how it is being cut off from the rest of the world without my phone or consistant internet action. I think though that I might getting more time to use the computer starting maybe next week and I'm getting a phone card so that will help matters too.
I've still been doing base camp training, it just ended yesterday. Today I actually had a day off but a bunch of us went white water canoeing which was such a great time. I love learning how to read the rapids and doing stuff like that. I think we might be doing a climbing day tomorrow but I'm not sure, might be doing service instead. Either way I'm trying to get as much experience as possible over the summer and taking advantage of everything.
We had a great party the other night to wrap up base camp split. It was themed and everyone wore a costume. It is a hard theme to explain because it has to do with a practical joke the other base camp played on us but it was quite funny and we took it REALLY far. It is actually the subject of our mocumentary that we made that gets played this week at all staff training... we are kind of competing in the film with the other base camp. I was up editing the thing ALL night last night so I'm pretty beat.
Everyone who was on the river today is staying in the town office in Asheville (in sleeping bags) and going out tonight. Should be fun. I'm still enjoying the lifestyle even though I miss the fact that I can't ever talk to you all.
I love getting your emails even if I don't have time to reply. I do the blog first because it gets to the most people. But please keep me updated on what is going on in your lives.
Also checked on some white water options for the summer and I would love to have some visitors :)

So...i'm with Allison. I now know why you "called to talk" at 2am on a week day!! Give me some dates when I should come down to visit...just a 7 hour drive from here. I'll work on sending real mail too. Miss you!!
Hey J! good hearing from you last night...glad that you called at one in the morning! So jealous of the mountain view you wake up to everyday and the fact that you are that close to Asheville - Not to mention the hiking, biking, rafting...If only it compared to the cube i sit in most of the week. HAHA. Would love to visit! Hope you're having a good week! Piece!
